Camera O

Experience the Orford Ness landscape in a new way by capturing the outside image inside the Bomb Ballistics Building through a camera obscura. A camera obscura was used on Orford Ness in the Bomb Ballistic Buildings in the 1930s to plot and gather data on bomb accuracy. We have installed this one in the same location but to more peaceful ends to observe and record the shifting light and forms of the contemporary coastal landscape looking south towards the Power House. The camera obscura is open 5-6 April and will accompany the new tondo (round) drawing exhibition Camera O which is on view until 26 October 2025.
